Here are a few examples of the work we do:
We DIG Salford - Salford’s “Green & Growing Network”
Since 2014 we have delivered a series of “green and growing” activities in a variety of settings including nurseries, primary schools, residential care homes and the Age UK Salford’s Critchley Café.
These projects have been funded via NHS Salford CCG - Little Pot of Health funds, Salford City Council Devolved Budgets, City West Housing Trust, Local Postcode Lottery and Ambition for Ageing.
As the number of groups has grown we have developed a new campaign, this is the “We DIG Salford” network and through social media and WhatsApp we are encouraging “green and growing” groups to collaborate together.
Oakwood Academy Horticulture Students
As one of our clients, Oakwood Academy students attend a programme of horticulture education over two half-days a week. During the academic year, the students work towards a recognised qualification in Horticulture.
Forest school
This year our team are working with 6 primary schools funded via the NHS Salford CCG Healthy Schools Grant. In the pictures above they had been busy making dens from natural materials, using tarps and ropes to create shelters to protect us from the autumn weather.
